Have you ever done something BIG, then taken your foot off the gas and totally lost momentum?
For example: you ran a 70.3 a few months ago, but have been stuck in the mud ever since?
And are you “planning” to get back to it?
Let me stop you here.
Here’s why “planning” will never work…
You are giving yourself an out.
In my experience coaching guys to 70.3s and Ironmans… “planning” is actually code for:
“When my external circumstances become difficult, I’ll have an excuse to bail.”
I want to help you avoid this mental trap. I want to help you be your best.
Here’s how:
Shift your language from “I’m planning to workout” to “I am working out”.
Read that back.
Can you feel how different that sounds?
How would you feel if your self talk sounded like this…
“I am running after work”
“I am signing up for another competition”
“I am staying in process on becoming who I’m supposed to be”
Would you feel more committed to yourself?
Would you feel like you have some momentum behind your action?
Language matters.
