Last year, I qualified for Ironman World Champs after five years of figuring out how to train without wrecking the rest of my life.
In 10 weeks, I’ll be racing in Nice, France on one of the hardest Ironman courses in the world.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in this process, it’s that a cookie-cutter 12 or 16 week training plan doesn’t work for real life.
You can have the perfect weekly progression on paper…
But if you don’t account for:
Family time
Work travel
Other events/races
Everyday curveballs
…it’s only a matter of time before you burn out, fall off track, and start making excuses.
Consider an alternate approach.
In Episode 2 of my Ironman World Champs Prep YouTube series, I share exactly how I build training blocks around a busy life:
How to define key 3 to 4 week training blocks when you can actually execute and absorb big weeks
The most important mental shift former strength athletes need to make for endurance success
How to seamlessly integrate recovery phases of training with the flow of life
And as a BONUS, I show you the exact 3 step process to building this type of plan for yourself.
If you’re an endurance athlete (or you’re curious how endurance training actually works) this episode will give you a blueprint you can adapt to your own life.

And reply with any questions about your own training.
Onward.

P.S. I’ve been having a lot of conversations lately with guys who’ve lost control of their mornings.
No stillness. Jumping right into work. Pushing off training. Playing life on defense.
If your stuck in that spot, the Run. Write. Build. Daily Blueprint will help.
