What are your thoughts on sweet potatoes as fuel? I’ve been using them on long bike rides (baked and mixed with salt) and have had pretty good results. I think they’re probably in the slow release category

They're a great real food carb source. My personal preference would be to eat them before long rides though. You're right that they're slower burning. They'd be similar to eating sourdough bread or rice pre-ride, which I did a lot of this past year
